Rapido's GCR 15T 6w Brake Van in BR Bauxite
Rapido's latest release for the OO gauge modeller is a 15T 6w brake van in the distinctive BR Bauxite livery, specifically decorated for the Departmental No DE634310. This model is a faithful representation of a GCR 15T brake van, a design that was widely used on the Great Central Railway and later adopted by British Railways.
The model features a BR departmental black livery, which is accurately depicted in the paintwork and lettering. The vacuum fitted brake system is also correctly modelled, as are the BR style axleboxes. The square base buffers add a touch of realism to the model, while the spoked wheels running on metal bearings provide a smooth and realistic movement.
The level of detail on this model is exceptional, with a high level of detail above and below the floor line. This includes intricate details such as brake gear and other mechanical components that add to the realism of the model. The livery application is of a high quality, with crisp and accurate paintwork and lettering.
For modellers who prefer to operate their models, the NEM coupler pockets make it easy to couple and uncouple the van from other locomotives and rolling stock. The model is available in 1:76 scale, making it suitable for OO gauge layouts.
