Rapido's GCR 15T 6w Brake Van
Rapido has released a new model of the Great Central Railway's 15T 6w Brake Van, specifically in the grey livery of No. 9365. This model is a representation of the standard brake van used by the GCR during the early 20th century.
The model features a vacuum fitted brake system, which was a common feature on many British railway vehicles at the time. The axleboxes are accurately modelled in the GCR style, adding to the overall authenticity of the model. Round base buffers are also featured, as seen on the prototype.
The running gear of the model includes spoked wheels that rotate on metal bearings. This attention to detail is mirrored in the high level of detail above and below the floor line, making the model a good choice for those looking for a realistic representation of the era.
The livery application is of a high quality, with the GCR grey finish accurately captured. The model also features NEM coupler pockets, making it easy to link it to other locomotives and rolling stock. The model is available in 1:76 scale, making it suitable for OO gauge layouts.
Overall, Rapido's GCR 15T 6w Brake Van is a well-detailed and accurate model that is sure to be a welcome addition to any OO gauge layout set in the early 20th century.
