The English Electric GT3 was designed and built in the Vulcan Foundry in Newton-le-Willows, Cheshire in 1958. After a lot of testing, it was found to be uneconomical to use with the introduction of diesel power. The GT3 had the look of a steam loco with its traditional loco tender configuration. KR Models has captured the essence of the GT3 in this model. It would make an excellent addition to any layout.

KR Models present the English Electric GT3 4‑6‑0 gas turbine locomotive in LMS Black livery. The model bears the manufacturer part number GT3‑OO‑R‑LMS and is listed as DCC 21, with interior lighting fitted.

The locomotive represents British Railways in the Late Crest period. It is a 4‑6‑0 configuration that mirrors the original GT3, which was built at the Vulcan Foundry, Newton‑le‑Willows, Cheshire in 1958 and resembled a steam locomotive with a conventional tender.

A new batch has been announced and is available for pre‑order. Delivery is expected in April 2023.
