The English Electric GT3 was designed and built in the Vulcan Foundry in Newton-le-Willows, Cheshire in 1958. After a lot of testing, it was found to be uneconomical to use with the introduction of diesel power. The GT3 had the look of a steam loco with its traditional loco tender configuration. KR Models has captured the essence of the GT3 in this model. It would make an excellent addition to any layout.

KR Models English Electric GT3 4-6-0 gas turbine locomotive in British Railways black early crest livery. The model carries the manufacturer part number GT3-OO-R-Black and represents the British Railways late crest period.

The kit includes DCC capability (DCC 21) and interior lighting. Delivery is expected in April 2023.

The original English Electric GT3 was designed and built at the Vulcan Foundry in Newton‑le‑Willows, Cheshire in 1958. After extensive testing it was deemed uneconomical with the advent of diesel traction. The locomotive retained the appearance of a steam engine with a conventional tender configuration.

KR Models have reproduced the GT3 in this livery, providing a detailed scale model suitable for inclusion on a model railway layout.
