Hornby Dublo model of the British Railways Merchant Navy Class locomotive, number 35016 “Elders Fyffes”. The model is made to OO gauge, with a 5‑pole skew wound motor and a DCC‑ready 8‑pin socket. It is finished in pristine green livery, carries the running number 35016 and the name “Elders Fyffes”, and represents the early British Railways crest period.
The locomotive has a 4‑6‑2 wheel arrangement, a minimum curve radius of 438 mm (second radius), and uses NEM/tension‑lock couplings. Power is taken from both the driving wheels and the tender wheels. It is supplied by Hornby part number R3970 and is equipped with a driving and tender wheel power pickup. The prototype was designed by O. V. Bulleid for the Southern Railway, built at SR Eastleigh Works between 1941 and 1949, introduced in 1946 and capable of speeds around 75 mph.
