Hornby BR J36 Class 0‑6‑0 model, running number 65311 and named “Haig”, is presented in a black livery with the early emblem. The locomotive measures 200 mm in length and is DCC ready, fitted with an 8‑pin socket and a 5‑pole skew‑wound motor. It runs on all wheels for power pickup, uses NEM/tension‑lock couplings, and can negotiate a minimum radius of the second standard curve (438 mm). The model is supplied with the manufacturer part number R3622.
The model represents a London & North Eastern Railway J36 class locomotive built by the North British Railway at Cowlairs. The prototype was constructed in March 1899, ordered by the North British Railway, and withdrawn on 01/11/1963 after 64 years of service with British Railways. A total of 168 of the original locomotives were produced, designed by Matthew Holmes. The model depicts the British Railways late crest period.
