Hornby BR Castle Class model 4-6-0, number 5013, representing the locomotive Abergavenny Castle. The model is finished in pristine condition with a lined green livery and the British Railways late crest. It measures 265 mm in length and carries the manufacturer part number R3619.
The model is DCC ready, fitted with an 8‑pin socket and a 5‑pole skew wound motor. Power is collected from both the driving wheels and the tender wheels, and the minimum radius curve is the second radius of 438 mm. Coupling is provided by NEM/tension lock couplers and the locomotive is powered by steam.
The prototype was designed by Charles Collett and built at GWR/BR Swindon Works between 1923 and 1950, with a total production of 171 members of the Great Western Railway 4073 “Castle” class. This era 5 representation reflects the British Railways late‑crest period.
