Hornby LNER J15 Class 0‑6‑0 locomotive, model number R3414, is presented in a pristine black finish with the original LNER running number 5444. The model measures 218 mm in length and includes an eight‑pin DCC socket, making it DCC ready.
Technical details include a 5‑pole motor with twin flywheel, NEM couplings, power pickup from all wheels, and a minimum curve radius of 438 mm (second radius). The locomotive is designed to operate as a steam‑powered engine and features the standard 0‑6‑0 wheel arrangement.
The prototype J15 class was designed by Thomas Worsdell and built at Stratford Works and Sharp, Stewart & Co between 1883 and 1913, with a total production of 289 units. The model represents the locomotive’s service period during the era of the Big Four railway companies (LNER, LMS, GWR and SR).
