Hornby BR 2‑6‑0 K1 Class – Early BR is a model locomotive produced to represent the London & North Eastern Railway K1 class as operated by British Railways in the early post‑war period. The model carries the running number 62015 and is finished in lined black livery with the early British Railways emblem. It is supplied in pristine condition and is DCC ready with an 8‑pin socket.
The locomotive measures 243 mm in length and features a 3‑pole motor with flywheel. Power is collected from both the driving wheels and the tender wheels, and the model is fitted with NEM couplings. It can negotiate a minimum radius curve of 2nd radius (438 mm) and is suitable for steam‑powered layouts. The wheel arrangement is 2‑6‑0 and the model includes a tender.
The original K1 class was designed by Arthur Peppercorn and built by the North British Locomotive Company between 1949 and 1950, with a total production run of 70 units. This Hornby model bears the manufacturer part number R3242 and represents the British Railways early crest era.
