Heljan produce a limited‑edition OO‑scale model of the British Rail Class 53 "Falcon" diesel locomotive, number D0280, finished in lime green with the early British Rail crest. Only 800 examples were manufactured, each with a unique serial number.
The model is DCC‑ready, featuring an 8‑pin socket, and is equipped with NEM and tension‑lock couplings. It represents a non‑standard BR livery, has a pristine finish, and runs on a minimum radius curve of 438 mm (2nd radius). The prototype was built by Brush Traction in 1961, had a Co‑Co wheel arrangement, a maximum speed of 100 mph and carried the operator British Railways.
Technical details include a wheel arrangement of Co‑Co, a maximum speed of 100 mph, and a manufacturer part number of 5303. The model is catalogued under the British Railways early crest period and is listed as "Dcc status: DCC Ready".
