EFE Rail OO‑scale model of a London & North Eastern Railway J94 “Austerity” saddle‑tank locomotive, running number 68043. The model measures 130 mm over couplings and represents a 0‑6‑0ST shunting engine built in 1943, of which 75 were produced. It is designed to the specifications of Robert Riddles and operates as a steam‑powered locomotive in the British Railways early‑crest period.
The locomotive is finished in pristine British Railways black with the early emblem, using British Railways colour standards. The model carries the manufacturer part number E85002.
Technical features include a powerful Corless motor, sprung buffers and a Next18 DCC decoder socket located in the smokebox, accessible via a magnetic smokebox door. The decoder socket is recommended for use with decoder 36‑567A.
The model was announced as part of the Autumn 2020 British Railway announcements and is supplied with an accessory pack. It is DCC ready and suitable for use on modern digital layouts.
