Bachmann The Midlander Express Train Set is a 1:87 scale model representing a British Railways prestige express from the 1950s. The set includes a Jubilee Class 4‑6‑0 locomotive carrying the running number 45555 and named “Queque”, finished in pristine condition with a lined green early‑emblem livery. The locomotive measures 268 mm in length, is DCC ready with a 21‑pin socket, and requires a minimum curve radius of the second radius (438 mm). It is a steam‑powered locomotive designed by William Stanier and built between 1934 and 1936, of which 191 were produced.
The train formation comprises two British Railways Mark 1 coaches in maroon livery – a Brake Standard Corridor (BSK) and a Composite Corridor (CK) – both finished pristinely. The overall model represents the period of the British Railways early crest and is compatible with all leading makes of UK track.
The set is supplied with an oval of track, an AC mains wall transformer and controller, and can be operated on standard 2‑rail UK layout track. It is marketed as a fully rendered replica of the Midlander service that historically ran between London and Birmingham.
