Bachmann Europe has announced the release of all-new tooling for the Class 313 and Class 314 Electric Multiple Units, joining the EFE Rail range. These models mark the first ready-to-run OO gauge representations of the pioneering 'PEP' family EMUs.
Model Features
The models will accurately replicate the distinctive 3+2 seating of each class, with high-backed seats for the Class 313s and low-backed seats for the Class 314s.
Prototype Information
The Class 313 and 314 fleets were developed from British Rail's early-1970s Prototype Electro-Pneumatic (PEP) units. The dual-voltage Class 313s, built by BREL York in 1976-77, operated on both 25kV AC overhead wires and 750V DC third rail. They served various networks, including Great Northern, Silverlink, WAGN, Southern, and Great Northern.
Pricing and Availability
The Class 313 and 314 EMUs will be priced at £349.95 (analogue) and are expected to arrive in the first half of 2026. Full liveries and running numbers will be revealed in Bachmann's Winter 2025 British Railway Announcements on 5 November.
