Rapido's Evolution range of 48' non-corridor bogie coaches is a selection of generic coaches that can be used to represent various pre-grouping railways.

The range includes a 48' third class coach in the livery of the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway (LBSC) as No. 538. This coach features an arc roof design and is detailed with a range of separately fitted parts, including luggage racks, picture frames, and passenger emergency alarm devices.

Each 'Evolution' coach has a number of key features, including removable roofs for fitting figures, internal working lighting controlled by a magnetic wand, and a potentiometer for adjusting the brightness of the lighting.
