The Rapido Liverpool & Manchester Railway 'Lion' model is a OO gauge representation of a locomotive from the 19th century. It is designed to depict a locomotive in its 1930 condition, following restoration by the LMS.
The model is part of the Liverpool & Manchester Railway 'Lion' collection and features a wheel arrangement of 0-4-2. It is DCC ready, allowing for easy installation of a digital command control system. The locomotive is finished in LNWR green and Indian red livery, a typical colour scheme for locomotives of this era.
The model features a high-quality motor and mechanism for smooth operation. The tender has enclosed spring boxes and a die-cast metal and injection moulded plastic construction. Separate details are fitted, adding to the model's realism. NEM coupler pockets are also included for easy coupling to other rolling stock.
The model is designed to represent the pre-grouping era, a period before the major railway companies in the UK were merged into larger groups.
