Prototype information

The Rapido Met 1 collection has added a new model to its range, the L48 London Transport Livery, representing the Metropolitan Railway 'E' Class locomotive. This OO gauge model is DCC ready, featuring a die-cast metal and injection moulded plastic construction.

The model is a replica of a locomotive that would have been seen during the Big Four period, which spanned from 1923 to 1948, when the railways were operated by the LNER, LMS, GWR and SR. The model features a high quality motor and mechanism, allowing for smooth running and precise control.

The model includes a Next18 decoder socket, which allows for easy installation of a DCC decoder. The level of detail is high, with many separately fitted parts included to enhance the realism of the model. A number of optional items can also be fitted by the user, including tripcocks, airbrake and vacuum hoses. The model is also equipped with NEM coupler pockets and sprung buffers, ensuring secure and realistic coupling and uncoupling.
