The Rapido ‘The Railway Children’ Train Pack – DCC Sound (manufacturer part number 818501) is supplied as a DCC‑ready, DCC‑sound fitted OO‑gauge model set. The pack includes a Great Northern and Southern Railway No 957 ‘Green Dragon’ 0‑6‑0 locomotive built from die‑cast metal and injection‑moulded components, with separate fitted details, a firebox flicker and dynamic fire draw effect, a factory‑fitted speaker, MoPower stay‑alive unit and a 21‑pin DCC decoder socket, NEM 362 coupler pockets, sprung buffers and interchangeable painted or etched brass number plates. The DCC‑sound version adds a full range of locomotive sounds and dialogue taken from the 1970 film adaptation of the novel.

The set also contains three Great Northern and Southern Railway Evolution coaches – a non‑corridor brake third, an all‑third and an all‑first – finished in the railway’s historic livery. The coaches feature working internal lighting controlled by a magnetic wand with a potentiometer, removable roofs, arc roofs, round‑topped doors, disc wheels and extensive internal and external detailing such as luggage racks, picture frames and a fully detailed guard’s van interior. NEM pockets are fitted and an optional close‑coupling bar is supplied. Additional accessories include 3D‑printed colour figures of the main film characters, a GNSR poster, tickets and a print of the ‘Green Dragon’ by artist Jonathan Clay. The pack is intended for enthusiasts of the film and the novel who wish to recreate the railway scenes in miniature.
