Rapido The Railway Children Train Pack is a highly detailed OO gauge model based on the classic 1970 film ‘The Railway Children’. The set is supplied in a DCC‑Ready version (DCC 21) and also in a DCC‑sound fitted version, and carries the manufacturer part number 818001.

The pack includes a 0‑6‑0 locomotive representing Great Northern and Southern Railway No 957 ‘Green Dragon’. The locomotive is constructed from die‑cast metal and injection‑moulded parts, with separately fitted detail items, a firebox flicker with dynamic fire draw, a factory‑fitted speaker, MoPower stay‑alive circuitry and a 21‑pin DCC decoder socket. It is fitted with NEM 362 coupler pockets, sprung buffers and, where required, etched brass or painted number plates supplied in a detail bag. The sound‑fitted version adds a full range of locomotive sounds and dialogue taken from the film.

Also supplied are three Great Northern and Southern Railway Evolution coaches – a non‑corridor brake third, an all‑third and an all‑first – finished in the appropriate livery. The coaches feature working internal lighting controlled by a magnetic wand with a potentiometer, removable roofs for figure placement, arc roofs, round‑topped doors, disc wheels and numerous internal and external detail parts such as luggage racks, picture frames and a fully detailed guard’s van interior. NEM coupling pockets are fitted, with an optional close‑coupling bar included.

The set is complemented by full‑colour 3D‑printed figures of the film’s main characters, a Great Northern and Southern Railway poster, replica tickets and a print of the ‘Green Dragon’ by railway artist Jonathan Clay. These items provide additional memorabilia for collectors and fans of the movie.

Overall, the Rapido The Railway Children Train Pack offers a comprehensive, fully licensed model for railway enthusiasts who wish to recreate the beloved story in OO gauge. It is suitable as a gift for those who appreciate the film and the associated railway heritage.
