Hornby BR Dia.064 ‘Toad E’ 20‑ton brake van is an OO‑scale model in the Era 4 range. The model is finished in pristine condition, measures 90 mm in length and features a NEM coupling. It is painted in British Railways grey livery with a bauxite colour scheme and carries the running number E175712. The manufacturer part number is R6834 and it represents the British Railways early crest period.
The model depicts the first new design introduced by the London & North Eastern Railway in 1924, a nineteen‑foot, twenty‑ton brake van that incorporated the best features of the former Great Northern and North Eastern Railway types. This design replaced the older pre‑grouping brake vans as part of a renewal programme that followed the completion of a ten‑ton North Eastern design in 1923.
