Hornby Eurostar Class 373 Train Pack (Set 3005/3006) – “Yellow Submarine” edition. The model is supplied in OO gauge and represents the British Rail Class 373 “Eurostar” electric multiple unit built between 1992 and 1996.
The carriage measures 288 mm in length and is equipped with a 5‑pole skew‑wound motor. It rides on a minimum curve of 438 mm (2nd radius) and is fitted with an 8‑pin DCC‑ready socket; power is collected from the power car only. The finish is painted to a pristine standard. The model carries the Beatles imagery livery, applied as a vinyl wrap that mimics scenes from the film “Yellow Submarine”.
The set was released as a marketing promotion by Eurostar in September 1999 (09/09/1999) to celebrate the remixed release of the track “Autumn”. It is modelled after the initial privatisation period of Eurostar and carries the manufacturer part number R3829. Designer GEC‑Alsthom (in conjunction with BN Constructions Ferroviaires et Métalliques) is credited with the original design.
