Hornby L&MR Stephenson’s Rocket Train Pack – Era 1 is a 1:87 scale model of the historic Liverpool and Manchester Railway locomotive known as Rocket. The kit is presented in a pristine yellow livery and carries the Hornby part number R3810.
The locomotive measures 88 mm in length and is DCC ready with a 6‑pin socket. It is fitted with a 5‑pole skew‑wound motor and draws power from the driving and trailing wheels only. The minimum curve radius is 371 mm (1st Radius). The wheel arrangement is 0‑2‑2 and the model is capable of a maximum speed of approximately 30 mph. It is supplied as a single unit, representing the sole example produced.
The model represents the pioneering period of 1829‑1830 and replicates the original Stephenson’s Rocket built by Robert Stephenson and Company for the Liverpool & Manchester Railway. It is intended for use with the Liverpool & Manchester Railway, though the operator field also lists the Midland Railway.
