Hornby Class 50 diesel locomotive number 50 010, modelled in the BR Large Logo livery with a blue roof. The kit is gauge OO, equipped with an 8‑pin DCC socket, power pickup from all wheels and NEM/Tension‑lock couplings. It has a Co‑Co wheel arrangement and a minimum curve radius of 2.
The model represents the prototype built by English Electric at the Vulcan Foundry between 1967 and 1968, carrying the part number R3672. It depicts the locomotive during the British Rail Blue (TOPS) period.
This is a limited edition run of 350 units, exclusive to Kernow Model Rail Centre. Each locomotive is supplied with a numbered certificate of authenticity and etched nameplates.
The prototype, named Monarch, originally carried a blue roof after a 1983 repaint at Swansea Landore, a detail reflected in this model. The locomotive later returned to a grey roof following an overhaul at Doncaster Works in April 1985.
