Manufacturer description
A total of thirty Class 67 locomotives were built between 1999 and 2000 by Alstom, in Spain for English, Welsh & Scottish Railway (EWS). These Bo-Bo configured diesel electric locomotives have a large fuel capacity, electro-pneumatic brakes and a top speed of 125mph (200km/h). The bodyshell is a monocoque load bearing Alstom design, whilst the bogies, also designed by Alstom, are of an 'H' frame design. The engine, traction motors and control electronics are the same as those used in the Class 66, but differ in that the traction motors are frame mounted, rather than axle hung, to reduce unsprung mass. The gear ratios have also been increased, allowing higher speeds and the cab is designed around a central driving position.

Hornby DB Schenker Class 67 locomotive (model number R3574) is an OO gauge, paint‑finished, DCC‑ready model with an 8‑pin socket. It measures 259 mm in length, runs on all wheels for power pickup, and features NEM couplings, directional lighting and a minimum curve radius of 438 mm (2nd radius). The model is coloured red, bears the running number 67013 and represents a Bo‑Bo diesel‑electric locomotive built by Alstom Meinfesa between 1999 and 2000.

The prototype Class 67 was produced in a batch of thirty units for English, Welsh & Scottish Railway (now DB Schenker). It is a diesel‑electric locomotive with a 5‑pole skew‑wound motor, electro‑pneumatic brakes, a top speed of 110 mph (177 km/h) and a large fuel capacity. The design shares its engine, traction motors and control electronics with the Class 66, but the traction motors are frame‑mounted and the gear ratios are altered to allow higher speeds. The monocoque bodyshell and ‘H’‑frame bogies were both designed by Alstom, and the cab is centred around a single driving position.
