Era 3 (1923 to 1947) The Big Four (LNER, LMS, GWR and SR)
Locomotive No. 8802 was one of the D15s rebuilt by Gresley as a D16/3 in April 1933. Built at Stratford Works in 1910, the locomotive entered traffic as GER No.1802 at Cambridge Shed. Renumbered as 8802 in August 1924, the locomotive was allocated to Stratford in March 1926 and throughout the rest of its working life, 8802 shuttled between allocations at Norwich, Yarmouth, Yarmouth Beach and Lowestoft Sheds.

Hornby LNER D16/3 Class 4‑4‑0 locomotive, model number R3521, is an OO gauge, painted, black‑lived example of engine number 8802. The model is DCC ready with an 8‑pin socket and uses a 3‑pole motor with flywheel; power is collected from all wheels. It runs on NEM couplings with a tension‑lock fitting and can negotiate a minimum curve of 438 mm (2nd radius). The locomotive measures 216 mm in length.
The prototype was built at Stratford Works in 1910 as GER No 1802, rebuilt by Gresley to D16/3 in April 1933 and renumbered 8802 in August 1924. Throughout its service it was allocated to Stratford, Norwich, Yarmouth, Yarmouth Beach and Lowestoft sheds, operating under the LNER. A total of 104 of the class were produced. The model represents the “Big Four” era of British railways.
