Entering service at Cardiff Canton in 1991, 60039 was originally named ‘Glastonbury Tor’ as part of the hills and peaks theme of the initial Class 60 naming convention.
It was later one of the locomotives selected for the ‘Super 60’ upgrade programme announced by DBS/DB Cargo in November 2010 that was designed to extend their working life by a further 15 years. No.60039 was named ‘Dove Holes’ in April 2015 and was used on limestone traffic out of Derbyshire. It is still owned by DB Cargo and is one of 52 members of the class put into storage by the company.
We've recreated this impressive locomotive in RailRoad form, bringing the most important details to life and adding features to enhance durability, making this the perfect model for regular layout use. We've even included a pre-fitted sound chip so you can play authentic railway sounds as the model moves around your layout.

* Class names often change over the lifespan of a locomotive, so this is not necessarily the class name used by the operator in the period modelled.

Hornby RailRoad DB Rail – Class 60 ‘Dove Holes’ 60039 (DCC Sound Fitted) is presented as a 00‑scale model of a British freight locomotive. The model carries the manufacturer part number R30537TXS and represents the rebuilding era of the UK rail network.
The prototype entered service at Cardiff Canton in 1991 and was initially named ‘Glastonbury Tor’ as part of the hills and peaks theme applied to the first Class 60 locomotives. In November 2010 the locomotive was selected for the ‘Super 60’ upgrade programme announced by DB Schenker/DB Cargo, intended to extend its working life by 15 years. On 01/04/2015 it was renamed ‘Dove Holes’ and was subsequently deployed on limestone traffic from Derbyshire. The locomotive remains owned by DB Cargo and is one of 52 members of the class that have been placed in storage.
The model reproduces the key visual details of the prototype and incorporates reinforced components to improve durability for regular layout use. A pre‑fitted DCC sound chip provides authentic railway noises as the locomotive runs around the layout.
