Heljan 5701 is a OO gauge model of British Rail Class 57/3 diesel locomotive, number 57307, finished in Virgin West Coast livery. The model is presented in pristine condition and is DCC ready with an 8‑pin socket, allowing operation on digital command control systems.
The locomotive features a Co‑Co wheel arrangement, power pickup from all wheels and NEM/Tension‑lock couplings. It is capable of running on minimum radius curves of radius 2.
The model represents the period of initial privatisation and is built to the specifications of the Virgin Trains East Coast operator, with a maximum speed of either 75 mph or 95 mph as appropriate. It was manufactured between 2002 and 2005.
