Heljan Class 52 diesel D1040 Western Queen is an OO gauge model presented in British Rail maroon livery with small yellow warning panels. The model is finished in pristine condition and features a DCC‑ready 8‑pin socket. It represents the British Rail Class 52 "Western" locomotive built between 1961–1964 by Swindon Works and Crewe Works, and carries the running number D1040, named Western Queen.
The locomotive has a C-C wheel arrangement with power pickup on four of six axles, a minimum radius curve of 438 mm (2nd radius), and uses NEM/Tension‑lock couplings. It is powered by diesel, capable of a maximum speed of 90 mph, and is supplied with manufacturer part number 5218. The model depicts the late crest period of British Railways and is suitable for use on standard OO gauge layouts.
