The North Eastern Railway Class ES1 locomotive was a class of two steeplecab electric locomotives commissioned by the NER in 1902. Both locomotives passed to the London and North Eastern Railway in 1923 and then to British Railways in 1948, but both were withdrawn before TOPS numbers could be applied.

Heljan North Eastern Railway ES1 BR Black Early Emblem Bo‑Bo electric locomotive, model number 26500, is offered as a limited‑edition item in the Rails of Sheffield range. The kit is produced to museum‑quality detail and carries the manufacturer part number 1203.
The locomotive represents the British Railways early crest period and replicates the original NER Class ES1 steeple‑cab electric locomotives, which were commissioned in 1902, later operated by the LNER from 1923 and by British Railways from 1948 before withdrawal.
Features include interior LED cab lighting and headlights, a powerful five‑pole motor, DCC readiness (DCC 18) and optional sound upgrade. The model also incorporates finescale sprung pantographs, sprung buffers and is DCC and sound ready out of the box.
