The model is built to the specifications of the Great Western Railway class 1361, designed by George Churchward and originally built at Swindon in August 1910. It represents the era of the Big Four railway companies.

Only five examples of this model were produced. The prototype locomotive was ordered by and built for the Great Western Railway, entered service in August 1910, and was withdrawn in February 1961 after fifty years of operation. The model carries the manufacturer part number K2204.
