Manufacturer description

IKA Megafret wagons were designed for the transport of containers on UK W9 loading gauge routes. 

The wagon was built by Arbel Fauvet in France and the first batch were delivered to Freightliner in 2001. Subsequent batches have been delivered for use by EWS and DRS where they are used primarily for transport to and from major container ports and the Channel Tunnel.

Dapol Megafret Wagon Set 3368 490 9 460‑0 Weathered is an OO‑scale model of a Freightliner PLC container wagon. The model is supplied in a weathered finish and measures 246 mm in length, 33 mm in width and 22 mm in height. It carries the manufacturer part number 4F‑053‑003 and represents the period of railway rebuilding.

The real IKA Megafret wagons were designed for the transport of containers on UK W9 loading‑gauge routes. They were built by Arbel Fauvet in France; the first batch was delivered to Freightliner in 2001. Subsequent deliveries have been made to EWS and DRS for use on services to major container ports and the Channel Tunnel.
