The Bachmann Military Manoeuvres Train Set reproduces a Ministry of Defence (MoD) shunting operation using a British Rail Class 03 diesel locomotive (running number MoD 2144) fitted in Army Green livery. The locomotive is 108 mm long, DCC Ready with a 6‑pin socket, and capable of a maximum speed of 28.5 mph. It has a 0‑6‑0 wheel arrangement, a minimum curve radius of 371 mm (first radius), and is presented in a pristine finish. Produced between 1957 and 1961, a total of 230 units were built; the model carries the manufacturer part number 30‑130 and represents the British Rail Blue (TOPS) period.

The set includes an open wagon, a TTA wagon, a BR 20‑ton standard brake van, and an oval track with a siding. All components are fully compatible with other leading makes of UK track. An AC mains wall transformer and controller are provided for operation.
