Sonic Models has announced updates to their OO gauge London Brighton and South Coast Railway (LBSCR) 'K' class 'Mogul' 2-6-0 locomotives, including new liveries and completed artwork.
The 'K' class Moguls were a series of 17 locomotives built for the LBSCR from 1913 to 1921. They were the first locomotives to run on the railway and were later modified under Southern Railway ownership to increase their route availability. All locomotives were withdrawn by British Railways in 1962, with no survivors remaining.
The updated range includes:
Each model will feature a range of detail variations, including differences to the tender body, dome, cab, safety valves, and optional features such as a Westinghouse pump, Automatic Warning System, water heater, and variations to the lamp and disc brackets. Models will be equipped with a 21-pin Digital Command Control (DCC) socket, flywheel, cube speaker, all-wheel electrical pickup, firebox glow, and a die-cast boiler.
Prices start at £179.95, rising to £189.95 depending on the locomotive, with delivery expected in January 2026. For more information, please visit Rails of Sheffield.
