Rails has just launched a new 1:76 scale model of the second‑generation Mercedes‑Benz Sprinter, with delivery slated for Q3 2026. The limited‑edition model bears the Rails of Sheffield branding and is supplied in a display case.

Model makers can now recreate the latest Rails deliveries with the OO gauge, limited‑edition Sprinter van, produced in partnership with Oxford Diecast.

A matching Scenecraft model of the Rails of Sheffield shop will also be available separately, allowing enthusiasts to create a contemporary retail scene on their layouts.

The real‑life second‑generation Sprinter represented a major step forward from the original model – it introduced a new chassis, body design and a range of engines. It was offered in numerous configurations, including cargo and passenger versions, and became well known for its reliability, efficiency and safety features. A mid‑life update in 2014 refreshed the styling and added driver‑assistance technology.

Further information will be released closer to the model’s launch, expected in Q3 2026. The van is currently available for order through Rails, with an RRP of £42.95.
