Rails of Sheffield will re‑introduce its exclusive OO gauge Dapol Stroudley A1/A1X 0‑6‑0T locomotives in 2026, now featuring a suite of modern upgrades.

Since their initial launch in 2021, the new generation of Terriers will boast several enhancements, including a cab with a solid roof, fresh etched coal rails, extra weight in the coal bunker, a refined smokebox, and an upgraded factory‑fitted 15 mm × 8 mm × 8 mm speaker. The locomotives will also come factory‑fitted with stay‑alive features and a conveniently positioned Next18 Digital Command Control (DCC) socket.

All models will retain their die‑cast chassis and running plate, a firebox flicker effect, die‑cast wheels with a compensated centre axle, and separately fitted detail work. They will accurately replicate A1, A1X and Isle of Wight locomotives, offering two cab styles, coal bunkers, smokeboxes, boilers and both wooden and metal brake blocks.

The line will contain seven individual releases, depicting:

Prices will be set at £139.95 for DCC‑Ready models and £239.95 for DCC Sound‑fitted versions, with a release slated for the third quarter of 2026.
