Rails of Sheffield have announced an exclusive collaboration with Rapido Trains to produce 'OO' gauge models of the London Brighton & South Coast Railway (LBSCR) 10ton four-wheel and 20ton six-wheel brake vans. The models will be available in various LBSCR, LBSC and Southern Railway colour schemes.
The new models will feature a range of detailed features, including:
- Separately fitted brake gear
- Running boards and lamp irons
- Chimney
- Interior details such as guard's desk, stove and handbrake
- Eight-spoked metal wheels and metal bearing cups
- NEM coupling pockets
A total of 13 models will be produced, with 7 four-wheel vans and 6 six-wheel variants. The four-wheel vans will be priced at £44.95, while the six-wheel vans will cost £46.95. Production has progressed beyond the design stage, and the completed models are expected to arrive in late 2026 or early 2027.
