KMRC has unveiled a range of exclusive models, featuring a Bachmann OO gauge Class 170 in CrossCountry “Pride” livery and a selection of private‑owner seven‑plank wagons across OO, TT:120 and O gauge.
Front and centre of the launch is an OO gauge Bachmann Class 170/6, finished in CrossCountry’s “Pride” livery. The model represents locomotive 170618, which received the operator’s coloured vinyls in May 2024. CrossCountry presently operates 29 Class 170 Turbostars on routes between Cardiff Central and Nottingham, and between Birmingham, Leicester and Stansted Airport.
Manufactured by Bachmann Europe with the brand’s newly released Class 170 tooling, the two‑car unit incorporates low‑profile drive units in each vehicle. Power is transmitted to the inner bogie via die‑cast gearboxes that drive both axles.
Lighting options include directional illumination with selectable day and night modes, interior passenger saloon lighting, illuminated destination panels, independently controlled cab lights and door‑interlock lighting.
Two variants will be available for pre‑order, with delivery expected in the first quarter of 2027.
KMRC also announced a pair of Moger & Co Ltd seven‑plank wagons, offered in TT:120 and O gauge. The prototypes were part of a batch of twenty 12‑ton wagons built by Charles Roberts in 1911 and lettered for Moger & Co. Joseph Moger and his sons operated from several locations served by the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway, including Crystal Palace, Gipsy Hill, Norwood Junction and Penge, before expanding to sites such as Peckham, Sydenham and Raynes Park.
Both models are available now.
Completing the announcement is an OO gauge Franks & Co seven‑plank wagon produced by Rapido Trains UK.
The model represents wagon No.85 that operated on the London & South Western Railway. Franks & Co was a coal, gravel and salt merchant near Guildford station and ran several private‑owner wagons in a black livery with white lettering.
Based on Rapido Trains UK’s RCH 1907 specification seven‑plank wagon tooling, the model features side and end doors, double‑sided brakes, Ellis axle boxes, smooth tapered buffers and split‑spoke wheels running in brass bearings.
The model is priced at £32.95 and is due in the third quarter of 2026, with pre‑orders now open.
