The Hornby Magazine Model Railway Awards are back for 2025, and voting is now open. This year's awards have seen over 60 new model releases reviewed in Hornby Magazine, including nearly 30 newly tooled locomotives and multiple units, 15 carriage projects, and 23 new wagon collections.

Changes to Categories and Voting

This year, some changes have been made to the categories and voting options based on feedback from last year's awards. A new free text voting option has been introduced for the Retailer of the Year and Specialist Retailer of the Year categories, allowing voters to type in their preferred retailer. Additionally, the YouTube award has been refocused on channels primarily dedicated to building model railways.

Voting Details

Voting is open from 9am on Thursday, September 4, 2025, and closes at 11:59pm on Monday, September 22, 2025. All votes cast will be entered into a prize draw to win Hornby's new 'OO' gauge Railway 200 Birth of the Railways train pack, worth £399.99.

Awards Ceremony and Results

The winners will be announced at an after-show ceremony at the Great Electric Train Show in Milton Keynes on Saturday, October 11, 2025. The results will also be available on the Key Model World website and in the December 2025 issue of Hornby Magazine.
