Hornby has announced its latest 'OO' gauge model releases: a gold liveried Class 66 locomotive, numbered 66301, and a matching IIA-D biomass hopper, both celebrating the 50th anniversary of Drax Power Station.
- The Class 66 locomotive, 66301, will be part of Hornby's Railroad Range, utilising former Lima tooling, and will feature a 21-pin Digital Command Control (DCC) socket and provision for Triplex Sound DCC and Bluetooth decoders.
- The gold IIA-D biomass hopper will use Hornby's 2015 tooling, featuring turned metal wheels, NEM pockets, and metal buffers.
Both models are scheduled for release in March 2026, priced at £94.99 for the Class 66 and £44.99 for the IIA-D hopper. Key Publishing has also announced a series of exclusive IIA-D biomass hoppers that can be paired with the Class 66 and special edition IIA-D.
