As the first half of 2025 draws to a close, Cavalex has provided an update on its current projects, showcasing a range of new releases and upcoming models for modellers to look forward to.
Cavalex has received its second batch of Class 60 locomotives, with the majority being the Super 60 version suitable for current day and recent time period modelling. Notably, the pioneer of the Class, 60001 'Steadfast', was also included in the shipment, complete with a special box and memorabilia. A second batch of models is expected to arrive in July, featuring Trainload Freight Sector liveries and drop-in wheelsets for finescale, EM, and P4 gauges. A DCC Sound upgrade kit will also be available, allowing customers to upgrade their DCC Ready models.
Cavalex has apologised for the delay in delivering the PHA/JGA wagons, citing the need to remake the first run of HAA hoppers. Although the project is running behind schedule, the manufacturer is working to deliver the models as soon as possible.
The PXA covered steel coil carrying wagons and JXA scrap wagon project has progressed to the production stage, with models exclusive to Rails of Sheffield available for pre-order.
With the Class 60 project nearing completion, Cavalex is preparing for the second run of the Class 56 locomotive. Production is set to start soon, with several exclusive models being released in collaboration with retailers and organisations. Due to delays with the Class 60 project, the Class 56 models are now expected to arrive at the end of 2025. Exclusive models will be released for various retailers, including AMRSS, Rails of Sheffield, Railway Icons, Trains4U, Ultimate Model Railways, and Key Model World.
