Accurascale releases 'Ghost' livery for Class 60

Published Friday 29 August 2025

Accurascale is producing a model of the Class 60 locomotive 60022 in the short-lived EWS 'Ghost' livery. This livery was carried by a few EWS locomotives in the late 1990s while the company was finalising its new colours. The 'Ghost' livery featured a primer colour scheme with yellow ends, cantrail lining, and warning notices.

The real locomotive, 60022, was built in 1990 and was part of the EWS fleet, but never carried the original EW&S colours. It is currently stored at Brush Loughborough, awaiting its next life as part of the DCRail Class 60 fleet spares pool.

The Accurascale model of 60022 will be released in 2026 as part of the second batch of Class 60s. It will feature the same internal and external specifications as the other models, including a powerful mechanism and directional lighting. The model will be available with a 21-pin decoder socket and will come in DCC ready and DCC sound fitted versions.

The prices for the model are £169.99 for the DCC ready version and £269.99 for the DCC sound fitted version.
