Accurascale is launching a new range of “Genesis” coaches for OO gauge, using upgraded tooling that was originally produced by Hattons Originals and has now been incorporated into Accurascale’s exclusive range.
The range consists of a series of generic pre‑grouping four‑ and six‑wheel coaches that can be produced in a wide variety of liveries and feature typical pre‑grouping coach characteristics. The coaches were first developed and produced by Hattons; when Hattons closed in early 2024 its tooling was transferred to Accurascale.
Accurascale has refined the Hattons tooling, giving the new coaches improved parts fitment, the removal of manufacturing blemishes, replacements for selected parts, and standard interior lighting on every model. Interior lights are operated by a magnetic wand and every coach includes a stay‑alive capacitor to prevent flicker.
A new body style has been created for the six‑wheel Full Brake coach, which introduces centrally mounted duckets. Accurascale intends to further expand the range with new body styles, roof types, door styles and new 28‑ft and 32‑ft underframes. Coaches inspired by specific prototypes are also being considered.
The four‑wheel coaches will be available in Great Eastern Railway and Metropolitan Railway liveries, while their six‑wheel counterparts will be offered in Cambrian Railways, London and North Eastern Railway and London Midland & Scottish Railway liveries.
The coaches will be sold exclusively through Accurascale’s website and are expected to launch at the end of 2026. They will be offered in twin‑coach packs, priced at £79.98 per pack.
