Accurascale announces new Class 37 run

Published Friday 19 June 2026

Accurascale has unveiled a fresh batch of its well‑known Class 37 range, with an updated selection of locomotives crafted from customer input and requests.

Covering more than sixty years of the class’s heritage, the new release includes everything from the earliest English Electric Type 3s of the early 1960s to locomotives still operating across the national network today.

At the forefront is the Accurascale Exclusive No. 37800 finished in Rail Operations Group blue. One of the most sought‑after modern Class 37s, it sports one of the most intricate liveries ever applied to the class and will arrive with exclusive packaging and a numbered certificate.

The main range, available for pre‑order through Accurascale and its network of over 170 stockists, offers a wide variety of eras and liveries. The modern‑traction entry is West Coast Railways’ 37516 Loch Laidon, while the BR Civil Engineers sector is represented by Dutch‑liveried 37106. For enthusiasts of the BR Blue era, 37185 is complete with distinctive Cornish Railways “lizard” logos, making it an ideal partner for Accurascale’s china clay wagon range. 37088 stands out as a classic unrefurbished locomotive, featuring split headcode boxes and original buffer‑beam fairings.

The range also returns to the class’s origins with D6713, presented as one of the original Stratford‑allocated English Electric Type 3s. Built at Vulcan Foundry in 1961, this model captures the class during its early years, as diesel traction began to replace steam across the Eastern Region.

Alongside the main line, previously announced Accurascale Exclusives remain available to order. These include D6724 in partnership with the Heavy Tractor Group, heritage‑green 37403 Ben Cruachan supporting the Scottish Railway Preservation Society, and 37716 in Direct Rail Services “fade” livery, produced in conjunction with Rainbow Railways.

The new production run builds upon the improved tooling introduced on the previous third run. Features comprise an operating roof fan synchronised with the DCC sound file (also functional on DC), refined bonnet‑top doors, better glazing, and upgraded grilles.

Prices remain as the previous run: £189.95 for the DC/DCC‑Ready variant and £289.96 for the DCC Sound‑Fitted locomotive.

The main range of locomotives can be purchased from Accurascale’s network of over 170 stockists or directly. Exclusive locomotives are available for order via the Accurascale website.

Delivery is expected for Q2 2027.
