We are often asked why there are no more concrete turnouts available from PECO, and the truth is that in the future there will likely be more to follow, but in the meantime we have produced this video we show how both concrete and wooden sleeper track and turnouts are used together on the railway. In Britain, Network Rail, the company that is responsible for the railway network, is progressively replacing all wooden sleeper track as budgets allow but even today over 10% of the network is still operating with wooden sleeper track in place. We bring you some fascinating facts about this in this video and also show you how we built a simple diorama depicting a junction where both concrete and wooden sleeper track is being used.
