Add Variety to your Scale Model Leaves

Adding a variety of textures to a layout can really boost the sense of reality.  Changing up your leaves and using scale leaves on your foreground trees can really help achieve this. This is a quick tour of some of the leaves I have at home.  Some I have used a lot, some not so much.  I used rubberised horsehair for the bushes and seamoss or forest in a box for the trees with craft mount glue.  I sprayed the trees with a brown first.

Leaf Suppliers
Noch - come in 4 main colours, my favourite on the middle green.  www.noch.com/en/product-categories/trees-bushes/leaves.html
Little Leaf Company - natural product from birch trees - comes in natural or coloured. http://www.green-scenes.co.uk/store?productlist-sort=created-desc&productlist-categories=little-leaf-company&productlist-itemcount=20&productlist-search=
Little Leaf Company - other leaves - called fine scatter. www.dccsupplies.com/cat-608/little-leaf-company.htm
Super Leaf from Scenic Express.  http://www.sceneryexpress.com/SuperLeaf/products/1289/
Treemendus - the fine scatter give lovely small leaves, great for N-scale as well as HO. http://www.treemendus-scenics.co.uk/scatters-etc/
Selkirk - papery fine leaves like the Little Leaf Company.  The standard size is better for O-scale but the fine is great for HO.  http://www.selkirkleaf.com
Mini-Natur - foliage nets - great for ivy but I struggle to use them for trees. www.mininatur.de/en/Silhouette-Scale-H0--N--Z/Silhouette-Foliage/
Heki - very long thin shape but easy to use.  (The website's german but you can use Google Translate to read) katalog.heki-kittler.de/epages/Heise.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/Heki/Categories/Begruenung/Mikroflor
Model Scene realistic leaves - beautiful laser cut leaves - pricy but worth it for a few fallen leaves on a large scale diorama.  http://www.realityinscale.com/ModelScene-Scener/Laser-cut-paper-Leaves-Plants
