Grand Central Railway made a thrilling move in 2006 by acquiring six Class 43 power cars and twenty-four Mk3 passenger coaches from Porterbrook Leasing!
These power cars underwent major modifications to seamlessly connect with the Mk3 coaches, including switching the train supply to a powerful 1,000V conventional ETS, fitting jumper connections, revamping the central door locking system, and enhancing the couplings and electrical systems.
