Built as the Metropolitan-Vickers Type 2, these unusual locomotives were built from 1958 and featured a three-axle bogie at one end and a two-axle bogie at the other. Allocated to the Midland Region, the design’s unreliability led to all locomotives being withdrawn by 1968.
