Join us at the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum in Lathalmond, Fife, as the museum celebrates 30 years at its incredible 45-acre former Royal Navy depot. With around 190 preserved vehicles, workshops, a railway, and its own internal road system, it’s the perfect backdrop for unveiling our latest EFE Road releases — all with a distinct Scottish flavour.
In this video, we explore the remarkable history of Walter Alexander, Scotland’s most famous bus builder, and the iconic Alexander Y Type — one of the UK’s most successful single-deck bus designs, produced from 1961 to 1983 in more than 3,200 examples.
We then reveal four new EFE Road Y-Type models, all based on our upgraded AY-Type tooling and now featuring mirrors and opaque roof vents:
🟠 Strathtay Scottish – SL12 (SCS 360M), Leyland Leopard, dual-purpose 49-seater
🔴 Highland Scottish – L53 (SCS 337M), presented in mid-1980s condition
⚪ Potteries Motor Traction (PMT) – No. 168 (FEH 168J), AEC Reliance in NBC red/white
🟡 Stevensons of Uttoxeter – No. 18 (MFR 18P), striking yellow livery with 4-leaf doors
PLUS: Two limited-edition Y-Types for TTC Diecast, including preserved Western SMT SCS 335M and Lincolnshire NBC SJA 363J. Full details on the TTC website.
We’re also joined by Douglas Robertson, Chairman of the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum, for an in-depth look at the museum’s history, its vast collection, its 30-year presence at Lathalmond, and how enthusiasts can visit or get involved.
✅ RRP for EFE Road Y-Types: £46.95
