Manufacturer description

Each easy fit lighting strip is completely self contained with a built-in battery and five efficient LED lamps which realistically light the shortest Gresley to the latest Pendolinos! There is no need for any switch because the strip incorporates a small sensor which detects when the train moves and turns on the lights automatically. The lights stay on whilst the train is in motion, then after it stops keeps the lights on for a few minutes before turning them off so that temporary stops at stations or signals leaves the coach lit.

Train Tech Automatic Coach Lighting – Cool White (faulty flickering tube) – Manufacturer Part Number TTCL31

The product is a self‑contained lighting strip designed for OO and HO gauge coaches. Each strip incorporates a 20 mm diameter 2032 coin‑cell battery and five efficient LED lamps. A built‑in motion sensor activates the lights when the train moves and keeps them illuminated for four minutes after the last movement, eliminating the need for an external on/off switch. The strip requires no wiring and can be attached with blutack or other adhesive fixers. It operates on both conventional DC and DCC systems and is supplied in both traditional warm white and modern cool white variants. Optional accessories include a tail light, spark‑arc effect, door‑light effects and door tones, all supplied as effect LEDs.

The lighting strip measures 220 mm long by 8 mm wide (16 mm wide at the battery holder) and can be trimmed to fit shorter coach bodies. In normal use the coin cell battery lasts several months, and it can remain in standby for years. A smaller version is available for N gauge, and underground lighting kits are also offered. The LEDs provide a steady output with no flickering.
