Between services coaching stock is often stabled away from stations, freeing up platforms but in a place where cleaning and maintenance teams can do their work. Without the station platforms to provide staff with level access though, another solution is required. Enter the Carriage Siding Walkways which could be found in sidings at larger station complexes, or at carriage sheds and other maintenance locations. These wooden platforms give staff the easy access they need to board coaches and get them ready for their next passengers.
