Many smaller stations once featured combined Platform Shelters and Offices, particularly where traffic requirements did not warrant the construction of more extensive or lavish facilities. In many cases these structures were built from corrugated metal and wood which provided an economical solution, and in remote settings, these materials were easy to transport and erect than traditional masonry buildings. This Scenecraft model depicts one such shelter decorated in chocolate and cream. Whilst intended to be used with OO9 scale narrow gauge layouts, it could also be suitable for standard gauge OO scale layouts depicting heritage railways or stations and halts on quiet branch lines.
